MINUTES OF THE IPSWICH PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT #22-6

                                                                                    January 13, 2009

            The regular meeting of the Ipswich Board of Education was held Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. in the Superintendent’s office of the Ipswich Public School.

            Vice-Chairman Olson called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. with the following members present:  Braun and Schaffner.  Simon joined the meeting at 5:17 p.m. and Dale Hodson at 5:30 p.m.  The meeting was rescheduled from the regular second Monday of each month to Tuesday due to inclement weather on January 12^th.  Also present were CEO DeGroot, Elem. Prin. Geditz, Secondary Prin. Osborne, and Bus. Mgr. Weigel.

MOTION NO. 1-84-09

            Motion by Braun, seconded by Schaffner with motion carrying unanimously to approve the agenda.

MOTION NO. 1-85-09

            Motion by Schaffner, seconded by Braun with motion carrying unanimously to approve the minutes of the regular December 5, 2008 meeting and special December 16, 2008 meeting.

MOTION NO. 1-86-09

            Motion by Schaffner, seconded by Braun with motion carrying unanimously to approve the trust and agency, financial report, and bills that follow:

MOTION NO. 1-87-09

            Motion by Schaffner, seconded by Braun with motion carrying unanimously to authorize Bus. Mgr. Weigel to remit unclaimed property to the state.

MOTION NO. 1-88-09

            Motion by Simon, seconded by Braun with motion carrying unanimously to hire Cal NyGaard, Drivers Education; at $19.50 per hour and to leave the student cost at $80.00.

            Bus. Mgr. Weigel was instructed to contact the local businesses for a 2009-2010 fuel quote to be presented to the board on Monday, January 19^th.

            Elem. Prin., Secondary Prin., and Supt. reports were given.  A special meeting is being held Wednesday, January 21^st to discuss summer projects with contractors.

MOTION NO. 1-89-09

            Motion by Braun, seconded by Simon with motion carrying unanimously to approve the hiring of Cathy Carlson, Teacher Aide at Rosette Attendance Center; for $10.00 per hour for three days per week.

MOTION NO. 1-90-09

            Motion by Simon, seconded by Schaffner with motion carrying unanimously to approve the hiring of Cheryl Beck, Elem. tutor; for $8.00 per hour.

MOTION NO. 1-91-09

            Motion by Braun, seconded by Olson with motion carrying unanimously to approve the hiring of Jennifer Vis, Elem. Aide; for $8.00 per hour.

MOTION NO. 1-92-09

            Motion by Schaffner, seconded by Simon with motion carrying unanimously to go into executive session at 6:36 p.m.

            Chairman Hodson declared executive session over at 7:25 p.m.

MOTION NO. 1-93-09

            Motion by Schaffner, seconded by Simon with motion carrying unanimously to research an employee matter.

MOTION NO. 1-94-09

            Motion by Schaffner, seconded by Braun with motion carrying unanimously to adjourn at 7:26 p.m.
